BARBARA ELLEN WELCH, 89, of Lavalette, W.Va., passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, W.Va., by Brother Matthew Stepp. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. She was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Kanawha County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clark and Ida Rucker Balser. Barbara was a homemaker, caregiver and member of the Big Creek Baptist Church. Her husband, Bural Edward Welch, also preceded her in death, along with a son, Wesley N. Welch. Survivors include three daughters, Alice Staley and husband James of Lavalette, W.Va., Ella Mae Carroll of Ashland, Ky., and Dianna F. Pack of Lavalette, W.Va.; two sons, Leonard Welch and wife Viola of Prichard, W.Va., and Paul R. Welch and wife Juanita of Prichard, W.Va.; her caregivers, Paulette Rakes, Jennifer Stroud, Nancy Maynard, Jan Williamson, and Shawnda Mounds; and a very special daughter-in-law, Juanita Welch; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends may call one hour prior to services at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, W.Va. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Huntington.

HAZEL MARIE NELSON, 69, of Proctorville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord and together again with her husband Michael Burge on Friday, November 2, 2012. She was born February 21, 1943 in Kiahsville, WV daughter of the late MacKenzie and Susie Maynard Luster. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Nova Mills; three brothers John Luster, Jessey Luster and Mac Luster, Jr.; two sisters Mary Ellen Spence and Anna Merle Luster; and grandson Charles Edwards Adkins, III. She is survived by five daughters Rachel and Everett Hatten, Audra and Greg Borders, Jessie and Bill Clark, Courtney and Tyler Smith, and Betty and Eddie Crank; two sons Russell and Sherri Nelson and Michael Adkins; ten grandsons; five granddaughters; eight great grandsons; 9 great granddaughters; three sisters Wanda and Delbert Pack, Ines Cook and Delsie Fay Napier; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Brother Luther Dingess. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, WV. BETTY (MAME) F. HIBNER, 91, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, of Huntington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, following a brief illness, at Ruby Memorial Hospital (WVUH) in Morgantown, W.Va. She was born Oct. 6, 1921, in Ceredo-Kenova to the late Oscar M. and Zelda L. Moss Hunt. Betty graduated from Barboursville High School and had worked at the People's Company and Dress Factory in Huntington. She loved to travel with her family to Myrtle Beach and many places in Florida. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Calvin; a daughter, Patricia (Pat) G. Edge of Bridgeport, W.Va.; special granddaughters, Elizabeth and Patricia Edge of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Barry F. Hibner of Virginia, Larry R. Jr., Chari Iams, Karie Winans of Missouri, Calvin Carlton Hibner and April Dawn Hibner LeCours, Carol Nichols of West Springfield, Mass., and Richard (Ricky) Nichols of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Nadine Hunt of Barboursville; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Larry R. Hibner; grandson, Jerry D. Hibner; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Floyd Black, and Dorothy and John Trainer; brothers, Bernard R. Hunt and William F. Hunt. She was the eldest and last surviving child of her parents. Betty was a member of the Barboursville Wesleyan Methodist Church and served on the church board for many years, and was a member of the Barboursville Senior Citizens Center. Betty was a devout Christian and was a loving inspiration to her family and everyone she knew. Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m., andentombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. JAMES GOLDEN RAMEY, 71, of Prichard, WV, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Randall Robertson. Burial followed at Community Memorial Gardens. He was born February 7, 1941 in Wayne County, WV, a son of the late James Ramey and Elizabeth Adkins Watts. Golden was a retired auto mechanic, was a member of Locus Grove Missionary Baptist Church and the Whites Creek Masonic Lodge #60. A son, James Michael Ramey also preceded him in death, along with two sisters, Launa Napier, Mary Jane Maynard and three brothers, Thurman Adkins, Bernie Watts and Dencil Ramey. Survivors include a son, Timothy Ernest Ramey of Beaverton, MI; daughter, Kristin Michelle Hupp and husband, Michael of Huntington, WV; a sister, Kathyrn McFatridge of High Point, NC; a brother, Jay Dennis Ramey of Kenova, WV; five grandchildren, James Nathan Ramey, Skylar, Jaxson, Olivia and Gavin Hupp. Special thanks go to James and Rob, his nieces and nephews and his lodge brothers for their help during his time of need.

Come celebrate the life of a loving wife, outstanding mother and cherished friend, CHARLOTTE "SUG" ROE ROWSEY, 72, of Fort Gay, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at her residence. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Reger Funeral Chapel. She was born June 29, 1940, in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clifford and Cora Lockhart Roe. She was the widow of Johnnie B. Rowsey. Those that survive her include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Johnnie V. Rowsey and J. Sean and Kymberly Rowsey; grandchildren Jordan, Shane and Marissa Rowsey; as well as countless family members, friends and loved ones. VILLIA "JOYCE" SCARBERRY, 86, of Louisa, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky, after a brief illness. Joyce was born on May 13, 1926 in Fort Gay to the late Wallace and Pearl Salisbury Peck. She had six siblings which predeceased her, and one surviving sister, Ardith Copley of Fort Gay, West Virginia. Joyce was known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her signature gift of honesty will never be forgotten. Joyce married her sweetheart, the love of her life and soul mate, James "Bud" Scarberry, and the couple was married on March 6, 1948, and were never far apart from one another. Married for 64 years, Bud and Joyce raised their 3 dear children, Pat, David, and Beverly. Joyce faithfully cared for family and friends through her delicious cooking/baking from scratch- including her signature apple pie. Joyce loved to chat with friends and family, gardening, quilting, traveling, and especially loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was the heart of the family. Her surviving family members include, her husband of 64 years, James "Bud" Scarberry of Louisa, Ky.; Mother of 3 children and spouses, Patricia (Jerry) Derifield of Louisa, Ky.; David (Norma) Scarberry of Georgetown, Ky.; and Beverly (Richard) Pope of Winchester, Ky.; Grandmother to 5, Brad (Angel) Derifield, Kelli (Brian) Blair, Justin (Shana) Scarberry, Sarah Pope and Rikki Pope. Great-Grandmother to 6, Jake and Gray Derifield, Brylee and Beau Blair, Corbin Lee and Lelani Floyd. Visitation for friends and family was Friday, November 9th from noon til 2 p.m. at Young Funeral Home Chapel, services followed. Burial was at Greenlawn Cemetery. Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support in many heart-felt forms- either through prayer and/or visits, neighbors, and even random acts of kindness. Joyce will forever be remembered as Our Angel that lived, laughed, and loved. Her legacy will live on in each life that was touched by her.

PASTOR JERRY LEE TRAUTWEIN, 65, of Wayne went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne with Pastor James Parsons officiating. Burial followed at Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne with the Masonic Lodge conducting gravesite rites. Jerry was born on December 15, 1946 in Huntington, WV to the late C. W. Trautwein and Reba Riggs Trautwein. Jerry was a retired master electrician for Inco Alloys and Riedel Wilks, was a Baptist pastor of Upper Gragston Baptist Church, a member of the Wayne 18 AF & AM Lodge and the Knights Templar in Huntington and was also a Civil War re-enactor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter Jessica Sowards and two brothers Glen and Kent Trautwein. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years Anita Pasley Trautwein, three daughters Reba Carol Trautwein Price (J. L.) of Palm Harbor, Florida; Susie Trautwein Sowards (Jerry) of Wayne, WV, Jennifer Trautwein White (Seth) of Huntington, WV; son Danial Trautwein (Nancy) of Wayne, WV; sister in law Della C. Trautwein of Bradenton, Florida and brother Joe Trautwein (Bonnie) of Wayne, WV. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Chris Trautwein, Jerry Len Sowards, Alexandria McClure, Jaclyn Price, Greenway and Vivian White and Danial Trautwein, 1 great grandchild Katie Frye Trautwein and special friend Roy Brown.

JAY JERVIS, 81, of Wayne, WV, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2012. He was home and surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at Salem United Baptist Church, Wayne, WV with Roger Maynard and Tony Clay officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson Family Cemetery. From humble beginnings in a Logan County coal camp, he joined the Air Force following graduation from Wayne High School in 1949 and served his country in the Korean War. He continued to serve others, as an educator and Assistant Superintendent for Wayne Co. Schools. He was a graduate of Marshall University. He was a lay minister in the United Baptist Church and had served as Pastor for Salem United Baptist Church, where he was a member. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lou Emma Jervis, his brother Ray Isaac Jervis, parents-in-law Ernie and Susan Wallace, and brother-in-law Ernie Wayne Wallace. Jay was a loving husband of 55 years to Mary Kathryn Wallace Jervis, who survives him. He is also survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jay T and Rhonda Jervis of Prichard WV, Robert Jervis of Honolulu HI, Joe Jervis of Genoa WV, and John Mark and Nichole Jervis of Wayne; daughters and sons-in- law, Sharon Huffman of Cross Lanes WV, David and Susan Rall of Phoenix AZ, and Dan and Sarah Vunck of Richmond VA, seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Edith Jervis of Dickson WV, Wallace (Wad) Jervis of Ferguson Branch WV, Bobby and Seay Jervis of Wilsons Creek WV. Also surviving, sister and brother-in-law Otis and Lenore Maynard of Jackson, OH and sister Ora Smith of Wayne WV, brothers and sisters-in-law Charlie and Joyce Wallace of Poca WV, Johnnie and Willa Wallace of Huntington WV, and Clyde Wallace. He also had a host of beloved nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington P.O. CHARLES E. "C. E." WETHERALL, 90, Kenova, W.Va., passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Rivers Bend Health Care, South Point, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Jamie Gump. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. He was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Okey Hartwell and Helen Price Wetherall. He was the president and owner of C.E. Wetherall Concrete. C.E. was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 93 of Kenova and the Howard P. Hall VFW Post 1064 of Huntington. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Crescent Lodge No. 32 AF&AM of Ceredo, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. "Kipp" Wetherall Jr.; daughter, Carmen Mercedes Muller; and sister, Jean Cook. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Dolores Harless Wetherall; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tracy Wetherall of Kenova, and Terry and Tammy Copley of Crown City, Ohio; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Connie Ellen Wetherall of Florida, Cathy Sue and Ray Chaffin of Barboursville, and Tana and Harold Lucas of Ribolt, Ky.; six grandchildren, Lauren Wetherall, Desarai Lambert, Dennis Walters, Damon Walters, Charles E. Wetherall and Marlo Chaffin; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Max and Wilma Wetherall of Barboursville. FREIDA J. LEWIS, 76, of Ceredo, WV, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Aaron Abner. Burial followed at Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, WV. She was born September 14, 1936 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Troy and Ruby Sexton Hale. Freida was retired from Corbin Limited Company and was a member of Adams Avenue Freewill Baptist Church. Her daughter, Paula Jane Chaney Bing also preceded her in death, along with four sisters, two brothers and a great-grandchild. Survivors include two daughters, Rose Marie Jenkins of Ironton, OH, Carol Fay Isaacs and husband, Brent of East Lynn, WV; two sons, Junior Lee Chaney, Jr. and wife, Jo Ann of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Bobby Joe Chaney of Wayne, WV; three brothers, Harold E. JAY DONALD STEPHENS, 66, of Huntington, husband of Alma Stephens, died Nov. 9, 2012, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was a contractor and U.S. Army veteran. Funeral service 1 p.m. Monday at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home. Burial at the Stephens Family Cemetery, East Lynn. Visitation one hour prior to service at the funeral home. PHYLLIS C. "PEGGIE" NEW, 68, of Prichard, passed away Friday Nov. 9, 2012 at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a brief illness. Peggie was born July 5, 1944 at Zanesville, OH the daughter of the late John Willis and Kathryn Wells Shaw. She was a mother, homemaker and attended the Big Hurricane Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister Margie Strohacker. Survivors include her husband H. P. "Corky" New, two daughters Michelle (Marc) Workman of Fort Gay, WV and Katie (Scott) Jenkins of Virginia; a son John (Linda) New of Florida; grandchildren Savannah, Mollie, and Lydia Workman, Kendall and Zack New, Dillon and Ethan Jenkins; sisters Patricia Withers and Jackie Fleming both of Ohio and Myrna Granger of North Carolina, and a brother John Shaw. A Celebration of Life was held Monday November 12th at 1 p.m. at the Big Hurricane Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Perry officiating.

CLAUDE COX, 81, of Kenova, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Maple Hill Cemetery. Claude was born March 31, 1931, in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Elba and Faye Wilson Cox. He was a retired barber, having operated the Claude Cox barber shop for over 42 years. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Cleo Osburn Cox. Survivors include a son John Christopher Cox of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter Claudette Cox-Ellis of Huntington, W.Va.; a brother Elba Gene Cox of Ceredo, W.Va.; four sisters, Jewel Brown of Flatwoods, Ky., Wanda Lee Fulks of Dayton, Ohio, Eloise Ginter of Dayton, Ohio and Mary Sue Franklin of Wilmington, N.C.; and one granddaughter Autumn Mae Ellis of Huntington, W.Va. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday. HAROLD RAY JUDD, 71, of Crum, WV, died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 25, 1941 in Wayne County, WV, a son of the late Leonard and Estie Marie Judd. A brother, Arnold Judd also preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Trout Judd; two daughters, Vickie Frazier and husband, Stephen of Crum, WV, Eden Judd of Martin, KY; three sons, James Ray Judd of Crum, WV, Timothy Ray Judd and John Henry Judd of Blaine, KY; five sisters, Wilma Lee, Mamie, Betty, Ruby and Judy; three brothers, Darryl, Virgil and Leonard; a special granddaughter, Lola Renee Frazier along with numerous other grandchildren. OLIN KEITH ELLIOTT, 49, of Louisa, Ky. passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. He was born in Floyd County Kentucky, a son of Betty Jo Kidd Elliott and the late Garland Elliott. He was a sanitation worker for O.K. Sanitation Co. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his mother, Betty Jo Elliott of Louisa, Ky.; one son, Adam Blair of Louisa, Ky.; one daughter, Shounda Elliott also of Louisa, Ky.; Good Friend, Lora Ann Blair of West Virginia; one sister, Josephine Elliott of Louisa, Ky.; two brothers, Kenneth Elliott and Eddie Elliott both of Louisa, Ky.; 2 Grandchildren.

PEGGY LYNN BROWNING, 44, of Beckley passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley. Funeral services were held at noon on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Ferguson officiating. Burial followed in the Perry Maynard Cemetery, Sweet Water. Peggy was born on November 1, 1968 to the late Carlos Browning and Violet McNeeley Browning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Carlos Browning, Jr. Surviving are two sons William Perry Jr. and Christopher Perry both of Centerburg, Ohio; sister Sadie Browning Cook and husband Ben of Beckley; brother Ossie Dee Browning of Wayne and half-brother Jimmy Ray Curry of Kermit. Morris Funeral Home Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

LISA FAYE McCOMAS, 50, of East Lynn passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Lisa was born on October 6, 1962 to Harold Russell and the late Lois Pack Russell. She is preceded in death by a brother Chuck Rowe, nephew Ernie Frye and grandparents Harvey & Bessie Russell. In addition to her father she is survived by her two sons Shawn McComas and Joshua McComas and wife Jamie all of Branchland, four sisters Valerie Ferguson of East Lynn, Darlene Bias of West Hamlin, Sandra Hetherington of New York and Tammy Sparks of Indiana, two brothers Randy Russell and wife Laura of Mansfield Ohio and J. R. Russell of Huntington. She is also survived by her three grandchildren Kaden, Gavin and Maleea McComas. Memorial service was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne.

FREDERICK JOE FLOWERS, 78, of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Tim Lester and Rev. Doug Booten. Burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. He was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late William and Alma Overby Flowers. Frederick was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was a retired employee of Mountaineer Gas Company and was a member of the Washington Baptist Church and attended the Rt. 60 Freewill Baptist Church of Kenova. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores J. Flowers; brother, Ray S. Flowers; and sister, Billie Faye Rakes. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Columbia Gas for 42 years and was a member of the Buffalo Valley Missionary Baptist Church of Kenova, where he helped with building projects and church camp. CARMEN MEADE, 88, of Kermit, WV passed this life to the loving arms of Jesus at her daughter and son-in-law Estill Jarvis’s home in Paintsville, KY on Thursday, November 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Carmen was born in Martin County, KY on May 13, 1924 to Mont and Nancy Carter Cline who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death is her loving husband of 51 years of marriage, Lawrence Meade as well as sister, Ruth Collins, Brothers, Bert Cline, Conard Cline, and Scott Cline, children, Christine Meade and Lawrence Meade Jr., Step-sons, Herbert Meade and Ray Meade, Granddaughter, Angie Austin, two son-in-laws and two great grandsons. Carmen is survived by two sons, Clayton (Linda) Meade and Roger Meade both of Kermit, WV, Four daughters, Janie (Doug) Jeffery of Cardington, OH, Nadine Bowen of Lavalette, WV, Nancy (Estill) Jarvis of Paintsville, KY, and Bernice Webb of Virginia. Two step-daughters, Ruth Burton of Ohio and Louise King of Georgia also survived by her precious sister, Delilah Blankenship of Chillicothe, Ohio, and twenty four grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren, and many step grand and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and friends to mourn her loss. GLENN E. BRUMFIELD, 88, a lifelong resident of Ceredo, recently residing at The Woodlands in Huntington, passed away Nov. 23, 2012. He was born Feb. 11, 1924, to the late James Jay Mitchell and Mattie Riggs Brumfield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only brother, James Frederick Brumfield; and daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Brumfield. After graduating from Ceredo-Kenova High School in 1943, he entered the U.S. Army. He subsequently served across the European Theater with the 748th H.Q. Co., Tank Bn., M.Sp. Unit, Third Army. He was discharged from the Army in January 1946. He returned home and married his high school sweetheart, Nell May, on June 7, 1946. He graduated from Marshall College in 1949, and began a career in the sporting goods business. In 1970, he founded Glenn's Sporting Goods at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Eleventh Street in Huntington, where it continues today. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nell; three children, Glenn David Brumfield and his wife, Martha of Hurricane, W.Va., James William Brumfield of Ona, W.Va., and Lynn Brumfield Adkins and her husband, Jerry of Lavalette, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Dr. Chris Brumfield of High Point, N.C., Dr. Gretchen Adkins Fowler and her husband, Dr. Chris Fowler, of Greensboro, N.C., Jennifer Brumfield Rocawich and her husband, Mike, of Midlothian, Va., Mary Kathryn Brumfield Souto and her husband, Lee of Durham, N.C., and Madeline R. Brumfield of Morgantown, W.Va.; and four great-grandchildren, James Gavin Brumfield, Georgia Anne Brumfield, Ellen Glynn Fowler and Cole Marcel Souto. DWIGHT DAVID McCOY, 59, of Alabaster, Ala., formerly of Matewan, W.Va., and Kenova, W.Va., died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 in Yambio, South Sudan. He was born Sept. 4, 1953, the son of Chester Lee McCoy of Alabaster, Ala., and Yvonne Little McCoy of Kenova, W.Va. Dwight was a 1973 graduate of Pikeville (Ky.) College with an associate degree in mining technology. He was the owner of S&J Mining in Williamson, W.Va., for a number of years. Dwight served as the superintendent at Peabody Coal Company in West Kentucky, as mine foreman at V&M Coal Company in McCarr, Ky., and was part owner and founder of Mingo Cable Service in Delbarton, W.Va. He later worked as President of Alabama Land and Mineral in Abernant, Ala. Dwight also worked with EMR as Project Manager in Hurricane Katrina cleanup work; he was a safety lead during the BP oil spill cleanup in Slidell, La.; and Program Director during tornado cleanup efforts throughout Alabama and in Joplin, Mo. He most recently worked as the Country Director for SGI Global Holdings in Yambio, South Sudan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Jeffrey Scott McCoy. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Shelley Clark McCoy; children, Dwight David McCoy II, Courtney McCoy Ward and husband Joshua, Miranda McCoy Carroll and husband Nicholas, Kirby McCoy Henderson and husband David. He was born April 4, 1936, in Kenova, W.Va., son of the late Boyd and Pearl Lester Wilson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Wilson and one sister Anna Jean Mann. He is survived by his wife Jean Lezu Wilson; one daughter Brenda Jeffers of Kenova, W.Va.; three grandchildren Paige, Trace and Kayla; three step-sons Mike (Alice) Lezu of Clarmont, N.H., Paul Lezu of Huntington, W.Va., and Shawn Lezu of Huntington, W.Va.; and one sister Clara Lee Oxley of Catlettsburg, Ky. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Vietnam and Korean wars. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was owner of Jack's Construction. ROBERT L. "BOB" WELCH, 82, of Huntington, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Fred McCarty. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born June 14, 1930, in McDowell County, W.Va., a son of the late Herman V. Welch and Grace Marsh Followay. He was a retired assistant street superintendent of the city of Huntington with 25 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. Bob also attended Walnut Hills Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Jack Followay; and sister, Barbara Sue Roten. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mae L. Chapman Welch; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald R. and Mary Welch of Huntington and Johnny B. and Tama Followay of Wayne, W.Va.; sister, Dorothy A. NADA HOLLAND McKENZIE, 86 of Ceredo passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House with family by her side. She was born November 27, 1925, to the late Charles and Eva Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ernest McKenzie; two sisters, Reba Hatten and Ada "Bertie" Holland, and her brother Charles Holland Jr. She is survived by two sisters, Charlotte (Robert) Ullom of Huntington and Garnet (Robert) Bryant of Ceredo, with whom she made her home, also many nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly. Nada worked several years for Thacker's Variety Store and Capeharts & Browns Jewelry stores in Kenova, W.Va. She was a Christian lady who loved to attend church when she was able, and attended many churches in this area including Westmoreland Baptist Church, where she was a member. The family would like to thank her caregivers Sallie Smith, Christy Pancake, Dorothy Smith, Missy Payton, Kelley Marshall, Karen Lemaster, Sharon McNeely and Tina Ellis for the wonderful care they gave her, but most of all for the genuine love they showed her. HERMAN N. ADKINS, 55, of Shipshewana, died at 5:25 pm, on Sunday, November 25, at Parkview regional Medical Center, Ft. Wayne. He was born on August 20, 1957, in Huntington, WV, to Nolice and Erma (Bradshaw) Adkins. On February 4, 1976 in Middlebury, he married Jaqueline Mauck; she died June 5, 1992. Surviving are two daughters, Amanda Adkins and Christina (Sam) Tokar both of Middlebury; his mother of Shipshewana; seven sisters, Connie (Herbert) Lambert of Chesapeake, OH, Nora Adkins of Huntington, WV, Nancy Adkins of Wayne, WV, Brenda Adkins of Shipshewana, Bernice Wagner of Culloden, WV, Edna Adkins and Lynn (Mike) Conklin both of Shipshewana. He was preceded in death by his father and wife. Visitation was from 2:00 - 6:00 pm on Wednesday November 28, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury, with a funeral service following at 7:00 pm. LOGAN XAVIER MILLS passed peacefully in the arms of his loving parents on Monday, November 26, 2012. He was born at 12:10 a.m. and met the eyes of Jesus 55 minutes later. Logan was the much wanted son of Emily and Shawn Mills of East Lynn, W.Va.; grandson of Lyndol and Elaine McComas, Thomas Mills, and Angie Mills, all of East Lynn; and nephew of Ashley and Marty Ruggles, and Brian Mills. During his unforgettable time here on Earth, he was loved deeply by family and friends. Funeral services were be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Brother Garland Perry officiating. Burial followed in the Eli Cemetery, East Lynn.

EMILY ADKINS GALVIN, 58, of Fort Gay passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Kings Daughters Medical Center, Ashland after a long illness. Surviving are her loving daughter Christine McIntosh and husband Matt of Louisa, KY, grandson Brandon McIntosh who was the sparkle in her eye, sister Leona Russo and husband Dan and brother Jimmy Howland all of Willoughby, Ohio. MILFORD MARIE EPLING, 74, of Ceredo, WV, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Milford was a member of the Pentecostal Truth Ministries Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by an infant son Charles Howard Smith, sister Anna Pearl Johnson and brothers Earl & Homer McCoy. Surviving is her loving husband Emil Epling, two daughters Rhonda Copley and husband Danny of Ceredo, Loretta Canup and husband Mark of Kenova, three sons Charles Ray Crockett of Prichard, Wilburn Lee Smith and .wife Patricia of Ceredo and Terry Dale Smith and wife Teresa of Fort Gay, sister Ada Cook of Portsmouth, Ohio and three brothers Ollie Brooks and wife Ruth, James Ray Brooks and wife Viola all of Wayne, WV and Eugene Brooks of Ceredo. CARL KEMP LITTLE, JR., 81, of Waynesboro, Va., formerly of Fort Gay and Kenova, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at home. He was born April 25, 1931, in Inez, Ky., son of the late Carl and Blanche Cassidy Little. He was preceded in death by his wife Minerva Maynard Little. He is survived by his children Jacquie (Joseph) Romano, Kevin (Danielle) Little, Tonji (Ron) Bowen and Trevor (Holly) Little. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brooke (Daniel) Retana, Josephine Buscemi, Monique Buscemi, Mackenzie and Sophie Little, Bradey and Nicholas Bowen, Logan, Carson and Clara Little. He was preceded in death by siblings Oretha Kirk, Romaine Mills, Helen Jones, Ernestine Copley and James Little. He is survived by siblings Franklin Little, Yvonne McCoy and Betty (Richard) Konieczko, as well as a brother-in-law Darrell (Virginia) Maynard. In addition, Mr. Little is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Little retired from the WV Department of Health and Human Resources in 1988, after serving as Administrator for Wayne, Mingo and Cabell Counties. He was very active in the community and served on many advisory boards including former Chairman of the Board for Valley Health Systems; former board member and Chairman of the Board for Community Action Council of Wayne County; former board member of River Valley Child Development Services; charter board member of the Wayne County Headstart Program. He had been a member of the Louisa United Methodist Church in Louisa, Ky., since 1978, and had regularly attended Spring Valley Presbyterian Church of Huntington, W.Va., since 2000. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Young Funeral Home Chapel, Louisa, Ky., by Rev. Rick Wilson. Burial will follow at the Maynard-Frazier Family Cemetery, Glenhayes, W.Va. ELDER ARLIE RAY QUEEN, 79 of Huntington, went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Heritage Center in Huntington. Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel by Elders Johnson Queen and Bruce Finley. Burial followed at Webb Cemetery, Ranger, WV. He was born January 20, 1933 in Harts, WV, a son of the late Willie and Anna Toppings Queen. Arlie was a retired welder for Ensign Electric and was an ordained minister at Echo Baptist Church. Two brothers, Alvis and Floyd Queen also preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Imogene Williamson Queen; a daughter, Teffany Stamper and husband, David of Lavalette, WV; two sons, Darren Ray Queen and wife, Nanette, Benji Aaron Queen and wife, Anna all of Huntington, WV; three foster children, Christina Whitmer and husband, John of Summerset, OH, Bonita Adkins and husband, Todd of Texas, Gary Dale Williamson and wife, Sharlene of Tennessee; four sisters, Jane Anders of Washington Courthouse, OH, Cuba Ross of Alabama, Sara LeMaster of Huntington, WV, Polly Cox of Logan, OH; four brothers, Delbert Queen of Ohio, Sammy Queen of Wayne, WV, Linzie Queen of Harts, WV, Willie Queen, Jr. of Chapmanville, WV; five grandchildren, Drew Stamper, Anna Stamper, Brayden Stamper, Jackson Queen and Jordan Queen; special friends, Bill and Nellie Ferguson, Charlotte Bushnel and Ben Manns and a host of additional family, friends.

CAROLYN JEAN GOOD LAMBERT passed away Nov. 29, 2012, after a brief illness. She was born in Meadow Creek, W.Va., on Sept. 22, 1930, to the late Martin L. Good and Bess E. Good. Carolyn graduated from Huntington High School in 1949. She married Harry Lambert Jr., the "Love of her Life," on Jan. 6, 1951. Harry and Carolyn lived most of their married life in Kenova and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before Harry passed away last year. Carolyn and Harry had two daughters, Joan C. (Jody) Lambert and Sammie Lambert. After the birth of their daughters, Carolyn went back to school to fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher. She graduated from Marshall University and taught at Kenova Elementary School for many years. In her retirement, Carolyn made use of her "green thumb" and supplied the neighborhood with vegetables. She also loved working in her perennial garden that neighbors admired as they passed the house during the spring, summer and fall. Carolyn and Harry had a special place in their hearts for lost and abandoned dogs and always were ready to add one more to their family. Carolyn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kenova. She was a Methodist by faith and attended the Kenova United Methodist Church. Survivors include daughters Jody, of Georgetown, Ky., and Sammie of Louisville; a special niece, Carla Garlow and Carla's husband, Kevin, of Fayetteville, W.Va.; two "adopted" daughters, Lynda Umfress of Georgetown, Ky., and Tina Long of Huntington; and three siblings, W. E. Good of Oregon; M. L. Good of Michigan and Margaret Davis of Oak Hill, W.Va. Carolyn's three dogs - Janie, Buddy and Fritz - will miss her greatly. A private graveside service was held earlier in the week with Rev. Ray Stephens officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Victories Animal Rescue, P. O. Their care and compassion were overwhelming and will never be forgotten. Carolyn was a kind, loving and generous person who believed in equality and justice for all with NO EXCEPTIONS. She was humble and unassuming. There was no better mother in the world. The world will be a lesser place without her. Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova is assisting the family.

TRUMAN MILLS, 91 of Chandler AZ., passed peacefully away on Friday Nov. 30, 2012. Truman can now join his beloved wife Pauline for all of eternity just as they vowed at their wedding 62 years ago. Truman was born in East Lynn, West Virginia in 1921 to Moss and Martha Mills. He was married to his true love Pauline (Polly) until she passed away in February of this year. Truman was raised in Wayne County, West Virginia and lived in Ohio, Kentucky, Iowa, and for the last 12 years in Chandler, AZ. Truman lived a full and enjoyable life as a devoted husband, wonderful father, grand father, and great-grand father. He enjoyed all of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, exploring, farming, and family vacations. He had successful careers with General Electric X-Ray and multiple small businesses in Iowa and Kentucky. He and Polly raised four children; Suzanne King, Richard Mills, Judy Simmonds, and T.J. Mills. They were wonderful grand parents to: Lisa Urban, Ryan Treat, Terri Adler, Christie Mills, Brittany Davis, Matt King, Kari King, Jennifer King, and Alicia Corales. They also loved their nine great-grand children: Emma, Layla, Rebecca, Joshua, Max, Joey, Gabby, Steven, and Leana.
