OLINE PERDUE ADKINS of Wayne fell asleep to wake with Jesus on Saturday, April 1, 2017. She was born June 25, 1925, to the late Zeri and Blanche Wellman Perdue. Her husband, Harold R. Adkins, also preceded her in death along with her brothers, Oddra, Novice, Muss and Calvin Perdue, and her sisters, Arbutus Hutchinson, Hope Cade, Jewell Hazelett, Velva Rice and Clysta Perdue. She is survived by her nieces whom she cared for as daughters, Teonia Ramey and Andrea (Kent) Savage; their children, Andy (Christie) Ramey, Chanda Ramey and Natasha Rayfield; her grandbabies, Shawn, Brookie, Lakara and Seth Ramey and Zackary Rayfield; and many nieces and nephews. Oline enjoyed working at Houdaille until their shutdown, but most of all she loved Big Creek Baptist Church, of which she was a lifelong member. She would want to send special thanks to Sandy Bellomy, Bill Morrison and the Stepp family. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Mt. DEBORAH KAY PAULEY, 61, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born February 2, 1956 at Wayne, W.Va., she was a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic New Life Tabernacle. Preceding her in death was her father, Brady Pauley, and one brother, David Pauley. She leaves behind her mother, Dorothy Watkins Pauley of Lavalette, W.Va.; her significant other William Barrett of Wayne; one brother Clinton (Judy) Pauley of Lavalette; and special cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Apostolic New Life Tabernacle with Pastor John Hickey officiating. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the church. STANLEY “BRENT” LESTER, 65, of Wayne, W.Va., was welcomed into Heaven by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 2, 2017. He was born September 18, 1951 at Louisa, Ky., a son of the late Ralph and Gladys Lester. Also preceding him in death were brothers, Joe Lester, and Ralph Curtis Lester; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and James Blankenship; niece Mary Elizabeth Blankenship; and nephew Bo Brooks. Brent was a member of Harmony Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving ex-wife and forever companion, Bonnie Lester of Wayne; three nephews Jimmy (Barb) Blankenship of Kenova, W.Va., Steve Hardwick (Rebecca) of Scott City, Mo., and Michael Walker of North Carolina; six nieces, Brenda (Don) Smith, Gloria Ferguson, Sharon Brooks, Nancy (Robert) Nutter all of Huntington, Rita (Tom) Tanis of Prichard, W.Va., and Karen (Justin) Osborne of Wayne; six great nephews, John (Mandie) Blankenship, Timothy (Beth) Tanis, Robert Nutter, Chris (Samantha) Blankenship, and Jeremy Smith, all of Huntington, and Brian (Leigh Ann) Brooks of Milton, W.Va.; three great-nieces, Sarah (Jeremy) Mount of Ona, W.Va., Heather Ferguson and Natalie Nutter of Huntington; five great-great nieces Riley Mount, and Britney Davis of Ona, Tatum Smith, Millie Blankenship, of Huntington, and Autumn Brooks of Milton; aunt and uncle Patty and Bob Fleming of Ft. GEORGE RICHARD "RICK" NELSON II, 41, of Lavalette, W.Va., passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, with Pastor Jeff Lycans officiating. Private burial will follow at a later date. Rick was born on July 23, 1975, at Huntington, W.Va., a son of George R. Nelson and Josie Haney Nelson of Wayne. He was an electrician for Ardent Services. Rick is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harrison Nelson, and grandmother, Della Mae Haney. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Julie Zenowicz Nelson, and a daughter, Lauren Pyper Nelson, both of Lavalette; a sister, Della Nelson Tuttle (Jeremy) of Lexington, Ky.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Claire Bias (Terry), Heather Collins (Jerry) and Erin Pack (Erik); mother- and father-in-law, Ken and Marsha Zenowicz; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. ROBERT GLEN REYNOLDS, 81, of Wayne, WV passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenny Cade officiating. Burial will follow at the Reynolds Cemetery, Wayne. He was born on November 15, 1935 at Lavalette, WV, a son of the late Robert Jennings Reynolds and Eulah Maxine White Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Pinson Reynolds and a brother John Wesley Reynolds. He was a United States Army Veteran. Robert spent 20 years in the grocery business at Pennyfare and Pea Ridge I.G.A. in Barboursville and was a driver for L.J. Navy trucking for 33 years. Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Dillon (Vince), two sons, Robert Scott Reynolds (Sharon Kaye) and Jonathon Glen Reynolds (Amanda) all of Wayne, WV, three sisters, Betty Thompson (William) of Chesapeake, Ohio and Mildred Cade (Kenneth) and Genevieve Frasher (Tony) all of Wayne, WV, and one brother, Chester Reynolds (Carrie) of Proctorville, Ohio. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Landon, Major and Kayedan Reynolds, Nathan Scott Reynolds, Alisha Nicole Marcum, Ashley, Adam and Aaron Napier and five great- grandchildren. MILDRED “MILLY” KAREN JOSEPH, 49 of Morehead City, NC, formerly of Kenova, WV passed away on April 4, 2017 at her home. She was born on September 8, 1967 in Huntington, WV; a daughter of Mont L. Stepp and Rita Gail (Bowens) Stepp. She was a nurse at the NC State Correctional Facility. Milly was preceded in death by her sister, Ladonna Faye Stepp. She leaves behind her parents and her daughter, Miranda Lea Joseph. Graveside service for Milly will be conducted on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington, WV with Pastor Chris Day officiating. SAMMIE MICHAEL RAY NICELY, 25, of Branchland, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, with Pastor Jason Salmons officiating. He was born on January 25, 1992, in Huntington, a son of Howard Ray Nicely (Libby) of Branchland, W.Va., and Lena Mae Lucas of the United Kingdom. He worked as a mariner for Superior Marine of South Point, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Renee Nicely, Uncle James Lucas and Grandmother Clara Jane Adkins Dillon. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Sophia Nichole Nicely of Wayne; sisters, Racheal Nichole Nicely of Huntington and Cara Marie Dello of Wales, UK; brother, Anthony Brad Nicely (Laura) of Branchland, W.Va.; half-sisters, Melissa Sue Beatty (Scott) of Columbia, S.C., and Cayla Lacy Dawn Watts of Branchland, W.Va.; half- brother, Roman Edward Watts of Prichard; grandparents, Barbara and Sammie Queen, Harold Ray Nicely (Karen); a special nephew, Anthony Brad Jr.; cousin and best friend, Shawn Moore; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ronnie (Nikki) Spry. ETHEL ELAINE McKENZIE THOMPSON, 70, of Lauren, S.C., born February 13, 1947, went to be with the Lord April 5, 2017, after a long illness. She was born in Teays Valley, West Virginia, and lived most of her life in Kenova, W.Va. She was daughter of Estell and Laura Jarrell McKenzie. She was employed for many years at Cabell Huntington Hospital and worked for Kmart and Meijer department stores. She graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gary Wooton and Russell Thompson; four sisters, Judy McKenzie, Mary Osburn, Rosealie Keith and Rebecca McKenzie; one brother, Glenn McKenzie. She is survived by her son, Lonnie Wooton of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Natashia Morton, Heidi Wooton, Cody (Brook) Wooton and Hayley Wooton; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Beatrice McSorley of South Point, Ohio, Carol (Charles) Nichols of Kenova, W.Va., Nancy (Jacob) Kennedy of Cambridge, Ohio, Sherry (Richard) Douglass of Cummings, Ga.; two brothers, Thomas (Neva) McKenzie of Cattlettsburg, Ky., Wayne (Sue) McKenzie of Barberton, Ohio. GUY LEE TRENT, 91, of Wayne, WV passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at his residence. He was born on October 8, 1925 a son of the late Don and Vannie Brown Trent. He was a Church of Christ member and an Air Force veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Oxley Trent; an infant daughter, Tiny Trent; two brothers, Herald and Hubert Trent and his sister Shirley. Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Delores Jean Watts Trent; two sons, Anthony Trent (Vickie) of Thomasville, NC and Rusty Trent (Paula) of Wallburg, NC; two step-sons, Bruce Watts (Manan) and Jr. Koster (Carole) both of Wayne, WV; one sister Mary Hatfield of Gilbert, WV; two brothers, Earl David (Doris) and Harry Trent both of Gilbert, WV; sixteen grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous additional in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. MELVIN LEE HOUCK, 86, of Huntington, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, at Madison Park, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Ralph Houck. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born April 22, 1930, in Huntington, a son of the late Mervin Allen and Elizabeth Conley Houck. Melvin was a 1950 graduate of Vinson High School and was a member of Jackson Avenue Church of God Holiness and Crook Chapel Church. He was a Veteran of the US Navy, having served in active duty then coming back to Huntington to serve at the US Naval Reserve Training Center, and he retired from the VA Hospital. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 93 of Kenova. Melvin was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Crescent Lodge 32 AF&AM of Ceredo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Marie Counts Houck, second wife, Effie Mae Pickett Taylor Houck, and a brother, Ronnie Houck. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and James Michael Asbury; grandchildren, Claude Michael Asbury and Molly Marie Asbury; great-granddaughter, Brittany Marie Asbury; brothers, Eugene Ralph Houck, Gary Houck and Russell Houck; second wife Effie's children, David Taylor and Jim Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews. WAYNE MAYNARD, 87, of Wayne, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born May 22, 1929, in Wayne County, a son of the late Marcus and Goldie Workman Maynard. His wife, Ruby Jewell Duty Maynard, also preceded him in death. Wayne was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War and retired from the Huntington Museum of Art. He leaves behind five children, Thelma (Brian) Nicely, Denny (Karen) Maynard, Jeffery Maynard, all of Huntington, Steve (Linda) Maynard of Ft. Gay, W.Va., and Thelma Rene Rowe of Chesapeake, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Raymond) Abbott, Kristian Burns, Amanda Maynard, Zachary Nicely, Ashley (Joey) Clay, Jeremy (Beth) Maynard, Tyler Maynard, Faith Ann Maynard and Andy Rowe; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Paul W. Maynard, Everette L. Maynard and James F. Maynard; three sisters, Rinda Duncan, Dorothy Fowler and Wanda Caldwell; and a host of family and friends. EMMA JEAN MILLS, 77, of Huntington, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 9, 2017, from her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastor Larry A. Greene officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kenova. Emma was born October 26, 1939, in Huntington, a daughter of the late John and Rosa Lee McClaskey Blake. Five sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death. She was retired from the Department of Human Services as a social worker. Emma was a member of River Cities Community Church. Survivors include her husband, Roger L. Mills of Huntington; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Rena Blake of Huntington; two grandchildren, Michelle Slone of Huntington and Eric Blake and his wife Kristin Blake of Huntington; a brother, Edgar "Pete" Blake of Huntington; and two great-grandsons, that were her life, Devin Slone and Ethan Blake. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." On April 10, 2017, our father, grandfather and friend, JAMES THOMAS "JIM" WARD SR., went home to be with the Lord. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Alma Jean Hazlett Ward. Together they have three children, Janice (Dan) Newman, James (Dovie) Ward and Carol (Mike) Ronk. They were blessed with seven grandchildren, Jason and Brianna Newman, Kasey Ward, Megan and Mandie Ronk and Ben and Emily, and one great-grandson, Laine. He is also survived by one brother, John Ward, and one sister, Mary Edwards. Jim was a former pastor who loved to go to church and praise his Savior and sing in the choir. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Rollins Funeral Home, Kenova, with visitation one hour before service. JOHN MARK NICHOLS, 63, of Kenova, WV passed away on April 10, 2017 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born on November 18, 1953 in Kenova, WV; a son of Charles “Buck” Nichols and Lois Carol McKenzie Nichols. John is survived by his parents; and his son, Jason Lee Nichols and his daughter- in- law, Duska Leann Nichols. Also surviving are his four grandchildren: Tyler Lee Nichols, Keirstin Elizabeth Nicole Nichols, Kaylie Renae Nichols and Jaiden Marie Nichols; and his siblings, Lois Jean Moore, Marsha Lucas Bertram, Charles Nichols and Jeff Nichols. VICIE STATON WETHY, 88, of Dunlow, W.Va., died Monday, April 10, 2017 at Three Rivers Medical Center, Louisa, Ky. She was born October 25, 1928 in Varney, Ky., a daughter of the late Oscar and Cordelia Williamson Stanley. Also preceding her in death was her husband Johnny Staton in 1960 and her husband Vince Wethy in 1991, along with one son, Jimmie Lee Staton, and one great grandson, Alexander. She is survived by four daughters, Lona (Troy) Stroud of Dunlow, Marie (Richard) Stacy of Crum, W.Va., Loretta (Bill) Meadows of Brookfield, Ga., and Illene (Billy) Newsome of Louisa; one son Danny (Sandra) Staton of Belleville, Mich.; special daughter-in-law, Juanita Staton of Michigan; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Silver Creek Church, Crum, with Rev. Dale Crum and Rev. Randy Smith officiating. JAMIE GENE PETERS, 58, of Hurricane, W.Va., passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, WV by Pastor Doug Minton. Burial will follow at Thompson Family Cemetery, Genoa, WV. He was born November 28, 1958 in Bowling Green, OH, a son of Shirley Glenna Thompson Peters of Hurricane and the late James Edward Peters. Jamie previously worked as a truck driver and roofer. Additional survivors include a son, Jamie Lee Peters; a sister, Sondra Lee Peters Rice; 2 brothers, Glenn Peters and Darrell Peters; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. LEORA RUTH EAGLESTON, 89, of Ceredo, passed away on April 11, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born on October 10, 1927 in Ceredo, WV; a daughter of William Lewis Eagleston and Cleo Garland Malcolm. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Paul Eagleston, Mordecai Eagleston, Robert Eagleston, Nancy Heaton, Franklin Eagleston, Edward Eagleston, Beulah Evans, Beatrice Wellman and Kathleen Porter. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews. Leora was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Ceredo. Funeral services for Leora will be conducted by Pastor Rodney Hale on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with visitation from 1 - 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV.

RICHARD BRUCE BOARD, 67, of Lavalette, widower of Donna Sue Board, died April 13, 2017 at home. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastor Carl Lovins officiating. Burial will be in Plybon Cemetery. He was born July 27, 1949, in Fort Knox, Ky., a son of the late Clifton Harrison and Dorothy Louise Rader Board. In addition to his parents, he had a son, Jeffrey Addison Board, and a sister, Donna Mills, precede him in death. He retired as a welder and assembler from J.H. Fletcher Company. Richard was a member of First Huntington Christian Baptist Church of God, member of the Wild Turkey Federation and the Isaac Walton League. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Bruce Maze of Lavalette; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Board Jr. and Brenda Board of Huntington; two nieces whom he raised, Laura Bailey of Huntington and Amanda Harmon of Huntington; two brothers, William Everett Board and Shelby James Board, both of Huntington; a special daughter-in-law, Tammy McCoy; eight grandchildren, Chris Gecsey, Tiffany Gecsey, Nicholas Meadows, Richard Board III, Taylor Board, Shea Corns, Aden Corns and Samuel Board; and six great-grandchildren. She was born May 2, 1939, in Harts, W.Va., to the late Ray and Mahala Evans Ross. She was a retired employee of the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, David Bates Smith. She is survived by two sons, David Ray Smith and Julie Eldridge of Greenville, S.C., Timothy Wayne and Ruth Smith of Huntington; one daughter, Melanie and Kris Aldridge of Barboursville; five grandchildren, Cole and Mitchell Smith, Kane Smith, Sailor and Boone Aldridge; one brother, Ray Ross Jr. and Paula Ross of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Kathleen and Wallace Dean of Lavalette; several nieces and nephews; and two special dogs, Fuzzy and BB. SARAH ELIZABETH "BETTY" DAVIS, 92, of Huntington, W.Va., loving mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at her home. Betty was born in Kenova, W.Va., on August 26, 1924. She worked as a sales clerk for Kmart and also kept the books for her husband and their family business. She lovingly cared for her family and enjoyed cooking for everyone. Betty was a volunteer in the gift shop of Cabell Huntington Hospital for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Davis; her children, David Ray Davis, Wanda Lee Davis, Donald Lee Davis, Dennis Michael Davis and Steven Allen Davis. BILLY JOE ABBOTT, 59, of Huntington, W.Va., went to rest in peace on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Born February 11, 1958, in Huntington, W.Va., Billy previously worked as a construction foreman. Preceding him in death was his beloved mother, Margaret Neace Abbott Crum, and father, Alfred Ray Abbott. Billy leaves behind one son, Matthew Scott Smith; and two beautiful grandsons, Brayden Scott Smith and Parker Darrell Smith. ROBERTA E. MULLENS, longtime resident of the Lavalette area, passed away on April 18, 2017, at Hospice House of Huntington. "Roby" was born on June 18, 1924. From 2008 until recently, she lived in a condominium at the Wyngate Senior Living Community in Barboursville. Roby and husband John W. built and lived in a home at 5912 Camp Road near Dickson for some 40 years. In 1994, they moved to property along Route 152 in Lavalette, where John passed away in 1998. Roby was active throughout her life in church and community. She was a founding member of Florence Memorial Methodist Church in Dickson. Her regular attendance and dependable support of her church endeared her to generations of members. She and her husband operated Mullens Hardware in Lavalette for decades. They also owned a fishing camp at Dale Hollow on the Kentucky/Tennessee border where they spent many enjoyable hours fishing with family and friends. Born Roberta Lee Ellis in Huntington, Roby was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Ethel Ellis, her brother, "Bobby," and her husband of 57 years, John. Family survivors include son, John L. Mullens and his wife Jeanie of Barboursville; daughter, Jane Ellen Mullens Ross and her husband Ron of Baton Rouge, La.; four grandsons, Greg Mullens and wife Mindy of Lavalette, Alan Ross and wife Anne Marie of Livermore, Calif., Jonathan Ross and wife Angela of Baton Rouge, La., and Benjamin Ross and wife Mindy of Baton Rouge, La. NOAH DAVID BRADSHAW, 64, of Trevor, Wisconsin, went home to be with the Lord April 19, 2017 at his home. Born May 7, 1952, he was the son of the late Mack and Amanda Stevens Bradshaw. Survivors include his loving fiancé, Yvonne Webb of Wayne, daughters, Amanda (Mandy) Smith and Casandra (Sandy) Bradshaw, both of Indiana, and Cressida (Candy) Bradshaw; two step-sons, Dan Pearson (Crystal) and Chris Pearson (Christina) of Wisconsin whom he loved as his own; sisters, Geraldine Bishop, Carolyn Cottrell of Wayne, WV; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dave was the owner and operator of D&S Roofing. He was well-known as “Dave the Roofer.” As one of his employees stated, “The world lost a great man and the roofing industry lost a legend!” Dave started his business with a broken-down old truck and a ladder. With hard work and great discipline, he made it the success it is today. He loved to ride and trained horses for many years. Her mother Ruby Brooks preceded her in death, along with one brother, Emmitt Brooks, and maternal grandmother, Ida Brooks. She leaves behind her children, Roger Brooks (Courtney Keeney) of East Lynn, Bobby Brooks of Huntington, W.Va., and Elizabeth Watts, also of East Lynn; grandson Christian; granddaughter Caroline on the way; and step-father Lewis Clark of East Lynn. Bill is lovingly remembered by his children Jennie Leah Shore Watkins (Ronnie Watkins) of Corbin, Ky., Jacqueline "Jackie" Ann Courts of Kenova, W.Va., and Paul Sidney Shore (Donna Shore) of Proctorville, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren David Christopher Adkins (Jami Adkins) of Huntington, W.Va., Caleb Lee Watkins (Morgan Crutchfield Watkins) of Winchester, Ky., and Sarah Brittany Courts of Kenova, W.Va., as well as a host of other family and friends who deeply mourn his passing. Since the age of 13, Bill has been involved in the printing craft and had owned and operated Paragon Printing Company since the mid-1960's. Going into semi-retirement just a few years ago, Bill opened Landmark Printing Company, where he was proprietor and owner until his death. He was a craftsman and artist in the field. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who regularly rode, even until his passing. She was born on July 25, 1946 in Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Willis and Ruby Davis Frye. Cricket previously worked for Hills Department Store. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Toppins; a sister Lou Martin and a brother Billy Frye “Sonny.” Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Johnson and her children; son, James Dillard; two grandchildren, Alicia Walls and James Dillard, sister Etta Zemaitis (John); nieces Carrie Salm (Anthony) and Joetta Saunders (Trent); great nephew, Lex Anthony Salm; great niece, Riley Saunders, brother-in-law, Carl “Cap” Martin and Crickets extra special friends, Carol and Kaytlin Copley and Ann Maynard. SAMUEL “Sammie” COX, 82, of Dunlow, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 11, 1935 at Genoa, W.Va., a son of the late Milton and Bertha Cox. His wife Marie Rice Cox also preceded him in death along with one sister, Edith Cox Watts, and Glenn Roy Cox. Sammie was retired from PCA Packaging Corporation of Rittman, Ohio. He leaves behind one daughter, Mary Ann (David) Jarvis of East Lynn, W.Va.; one sister, Gladys (Dennie) Robertson of Ft. Gay, W.Va.; four brothers, Ralph (Barbara) Cox of Wayne, W.Va., Billy G. AIRON PAIGE ZUELKE, 23, went to live with the angels on April 26, 2017, at her father's home in Coral Gables, Florida. Airon was born in Atlanta, Georgia, where she grew up in the North Buckhead Neighborhood attending Sara Smith Elementary, Sutton Middle School and North Atlanta High School. She was currently enrolled at Miami Dade College for Business. Even though her time among us was so short, every person that came in contact with Airon knew the truly amazing beauty of her soul. She was the most kind, loving and thoughtful person we were graced to have in our lives. Words cannot explain the grief that is left behind upon her leaving. Her life was a testimony of compassion, kindness and love for all. She is survived by her parents, Rebecca Davis Zuelke of Atlanta, Georgia, her father, Jae Zuelke, and stepmother, Anne Clarke Zuelke, of Coral Gables, Florida. RAYMOND EUGENE EPLING, 76, of Lewisburg, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, in Canaan Valley, W.Va. ANNA E. SKEENS THOMPSON, 93, of Huntington, W.Va., widow of Wilburn H. Thompson, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017, at her home. She was born January 12, 1924, in Fallsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late William and Forma Cooksey Skeens. Anna was a graduate of Marshall College. She retired from the Wayne County Board of Education after teaching school for 34 years. Anna was a member of the Fort Gay Methodist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert Skeens and William Skeens Jr., and one sister, Lou Vivian Hodge. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Pam Thompson; one daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Ivan McGlone; a sister Jo Sue Burkhart; her grandchildren, Amy (Dana) Ryder and Ashley Thompson; great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Emily Ryder and many nieces and nephews. DELSIE NAPIER ADKINS, 81, of Lavalette, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 29, 2017, at her residence. Burial will follow at Mills Cemetery, Wayne. She was born February 19, 1936, but "Forever 39" in East Lynn, W.Va., a daughter of the late Robert Lee Napier and Norma C. Mills Napier. Her husband, Charley J. Adkins, also preceded her in death, along with an infant son, Jackie Leonard Adkins, and a grandson, Gary Lee Adkins. Delsie was a retired cook for Wayne County Schools with 26 years of service and was a member of Newcomb Creek Church of God. She was especially proud to be from a family of twenty-two children and loved her family unconditionally. She was always eager to brag on her grandchildren and told each of them they were her favorite. Her friends and family will remember her most for her selflessness and strength. HARRY D'WAYNE MOUNTS JR., 36, of Genoa, son of Harry D'Wayne Mount Sr. of Man, W.Va., and Holley Jean Browning Mounts of Genoa, died April 29, 2017 at home. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sadie Tomblin Dyer, whom he married September 29, 1956, in Midkiff, W.Va.; three sisters and brother-in-law, Odessa Cabell of Huntington, W.Va., Millie Ross of Kiahsville, W.Va., and Virginia and Wandel Parsons of Barboursville, W.Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Odell and Faye Dyer of Ranger, W.Va.
